Hair dye/ washing hair question?

Rosann Mccomb: its better to have greasy hair when dying hair!x

Rosalyn Olivera: I use a heat protectant spray everyday before blow drying and using hot styling tools

Donte Schoenhals: Nope! You do not need to wash it before you dye it. Its better for your hair to dye a day after you showered so your natural oils help protect your hair and scalp.

Herma Ellebrecht: I use a heat protectant spray everyday before blow drying and using hot styling tools

Claude Gloden: When dying hair you should have it slightly "greasy/oily" only because first off the dye will strip your hair no matter what.. Secondly your hair holds the dye better when it hasnt been freshly washed.

Stanton Valdivia: HEAT & CHEMICALS are hair's worst enemies. It doesn't matter if you wash or not, the heat protectant will not protect your hair 100%. (washed or not- like using sunscreen, you still get sunburned. Same with hair). If you're using hair straightening, assuming you are! , why else would you be using heat protectant, the hair dye will damage your hair even more. But to answer your question, hair must not be so clean, for the dye to cling to hair. Your hair dye kit has formula that will clean AND condition your hair @ the same time....Show more
