Question for parents who skipped preschool for their kids?

Curt Broadhead: Yes, I do regret of withdrawing my daughter from Maple Bear Canadian Pre-school. But we had no choice as my husband got transferred to Satna from Mumbai. She was in Maple Bear for 4 months and they were really good to develop some basic skills in my child. It showed improvements even at home. After moving to Satna, it became distant idea of sending her again to a preschool. Preschools do play a vital role for child's overall development. I wish we would not have been shifted in such a haste. Now she is 9 and a regular day scholar. A full time preschool program could have helped her in better adjustments in her school....Show more

Shamika Schools: My aunt never sent her boys there because she was a stay at home mom. They turned out well educated.

Nannie Kasee: You just learn how to sleep and you can learn that at home.

Leontine Kreitz: no and no

Geraldo Mccalla: Depends on what your reasons to keep him out...

Cody Petrulis: If ! you are a stay at home mom and spend lots of time with your child, just keep doing what you are doing. However, if you work pre school is much better than a baby sitter.

Antone Youla: I didn't send my boys. But they were involved in many programs we have in our region. I found them programs for preschoolers at the zoo, art museum, and the federal park. They also went to library story time and tot gym. The city had a two-morning a week play program like preschool for 1 1/2 a day. The boys were also in karate. Look around for what's available in your area. I'd rather drive around to programs to expose them to a variety of activities, a diverse group of kids, and a diverse range of highly qualified leaders vs just stuck in a preschool with one group of kids all year / two teachers all year....Show more

Dale Mccoun: We sent our son to preschool and it was a horrible experience. All teachers are not created equal and they didn't teach him anything. After the poor! experience with our son, we kept our daughter home and homesc! hooled her. She excelled beyond anything preschool could have taught her. We now homeschool both our children and they both enjoy learning.

Loriann Carrigan: I'm glad I put my kids are in preschool and weekend daycare. My kids started weekend daycare when they were eight months old and preschool at 2 1/2 years. They love both school and are well socialized at four years old. Also, it's the quality of the school and daycare rather than a small teacher to student ratio. Their daycare is huge. There are at least 80 kids at the same time. The teachers are interns to be teachers and the supervisor is organized. Everything is always in control.BTW, my daughter smiles and is happy when she arrives at daycare and cries before she leaves. lol. As for their preschool, they're learning three languages at the same time and my daughter reviews her school work all day long. Studying isn't a chore for her. She'll make up her own songs, is curious, and mainly isn't intimidated by sch! ool and homework....Show more
