Regular car maintenance for a...?

Ardell Luy: Check the owners manual for the specifics. If you don't have an owners manual, then go get a service manual from a parts store and it will have the maintenance schedule inside.Normally when I buy a car I do a few things right off the bat so that I'll know when they've been done. These include changing the oil and filter, rotating the tires, possibly changing the transmission fluid, changing the air filter, a good detailing including waxing, washing out from underneath the car to remove any dirt and oil, and flushing the radiator. That way I'll know when these things happened and can change them on schedule from now on. I wouldn't worry about plugs and wires until it had at least 100,000 miles on it. Those Honda's can go a long time before needing a tune up.I know most people say change your oil every 3 months or 3000 miles, but if you look at most owners manuals that sequence is for very harsh driving. If you are not in stop and go driving for the life o! f your car you can probably go to the other schedule and change the oil every 5000 miles. However you should change the filter every time. I've been doing that for years and have never had a problem....Show more

Davina Shindler: Oil change every 3,000 miles. That is very critical to your engine's durability and performance. Rotate tires every couple thousand of miles, but really depends on how you drive your car. If you drive economically and civilizedly(such thing?), then you don't need to rotate it that often, but if you drive hard, then you should rotate them more often. And depending on where you live, you should change your air filter about every 5,000 miles. Coolant in the radiatoe should be changed however long the coolant will last, or of course, more often than the Brand would recommend. Transmission fluid and filter should be changed on a yearly basis. Checking your engine oil dipstick should be checked every now and then to make sure your engine is not lo! w on oil, or leaking it. Tire pressure should be checked every! month or so, don't run low on air pressure. Wind shield washer fluid should be topped off always, and if you live in the cold areas, do not use plain water, you must mix it with windshield washing fluid because it prevents the resevoir from freezing and cracking. goodluck....Show more

Gilberto Cratin: Yes, get yourself an owner's or repair manual, that'll tell you about the service schedule. Personally, I'd change the oil, the oil filter & air filter now and you're off to a good start. Might be worth looking at having the cambelt changed too, it's worth doing at about 60,000 miles. If you're feeling wealthy, get a good mechanic to run right through it and service it up to the hilt for you, then you know where you are....Show more

Filiberto Ranalli: did you get a owners manuel, when you got the car?if you got 1,it will tell you in it when to and how to.

Kenneth Blacker: verify the tyre pressures a minimum of as quickly as a fortnight, and take a seem on the ! state of the treads in case you're doing it. verify the oil point and the coolant water point as quickly as a month (weekly's slightly plenty - a '02 automobile should not be burning plenty oil). in case you're at it, activate all the lights furniture such using fact the hazards, and walk around checking the bulbs. you are able to verify the brake lights furniture via parking in front of a wall and seeing the mirrored image. Get it serviced as advised in the owner's instruction manual. i'm getting mine completed as quickly as a 300 and sixty 5 days. they should a minimum of replace the oil and filter out, the air and gasoline filters, spark plugs, and verify brake linings. some human beings choose to alter the oil regularly than that. i certainly can not be afflicted. and that i do no longer do it myself, that's a messy fuss of a job - plenty particularly pay somebody else to do it!...Show more

Brice Greczkowski: Well, regular oil changes should be performed every 3,0! 00 miles, and thats for normal driving. If you drive alot, do it at leas! t every 2,000 miles.Transmission fluid should be changed every 30,000 miles

Andre Winegar: I would start out by taking it to a auto shop and have them go through the whole thing. This way you can make sure there are no problems you cant see. After that oil changes every 3 months or 3,000 miles. Tires need rotated, check up ohh I would say once or twice a year. Have your dad help you.
