Gene Debell: Make sure you have the red and white cable from the player (audio out) connected also to TV (audio input) These are the typical connections on older TV's.Your home theatre system (in a box) is a 5.1 system. Meaning you have 5 speakers and a subwoofer. Typically you can only use these specific speakers for this unit or at least speakers with the same specification. If you use different speakers with different impedance, the main amplifier may get hot and eventually break down. You probably hooked up your speaker to the rear! sorround sound channel of the home theater. If you hook it up to the center channel, you will get more dialogue/voice sound.I would suggest using the front left channel instead, then change the sound mode to stereo, this way all the sound frequency will go each channel....Show more
