how to handle situation regarding toys?

Barton Morfee: I agree about putting the toys away. When my kids were young I had a few friends whose kids seemed to tear apart our house including toys. I'd put things away that were breakable. But, I feel you should speak to this child's parents. If this child is old enough to break a toy he is old enough to learn how to be careful with toys too. Rickey Vrieze: I would hide the toys when he comes, and tell his mother about the problem. Its not really normal for a child to ruin COUNTLESS toys... if he ruined a few thats ok.

Hunter Osterberger: I would definitely put away the more breakable toys when this kid comes over. If he had a habit of breaking your vases, you would also put them out of reach, right? Why would that be a bad thing when it's about protecting your daughter's treasured possessions instead of yours?I would put away anything with moving parts and anything th! at runs on batteries. And yes, I would have a quiet word with the mother about having to take this precaution. If she wants more toys to be available for her son to play with, she can provide them herself.PS countless 'not expensive' toys that cost 10 bucks a pop add up to a pretty big bill.
